One of Sophia's favorite things to do these days is to play with play dough. I brought some back with us from the US, but the air is so dry in Beijing that most of it dries out in a couple of weeks and I refuse to pay 3xs the price for the same thing in China, so I decided to make some. So, I found a great recipe for homemade play dough and Josh made the above snowman. However, when Sophia saw the formation, she said " Nai nai" (Which to her is breast or milk) and picked it up and pretended to drink it! Not sure where she saw nipples THAT big, but it was hilarious.
A few people asked for the play dough recipe From The Toddler's Busy Book so here it is:
1 cup water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup salt
1 tablespoon of cream of tarter
food coloring
saucepan
1 cup flour
Combine water, oil, salt, cream of tarter and food coloring in the saucepan and heat until warm. Remove from heat and add flour. Stir, then knead until smooth. The cream of tarter makes this dough last 6 months or longer (according to The Toddler's Busy Book). Store dough in an airtight container or Ziploc freezer bag.
On Saturday after Kindermusik class, we took Sophia to Pete's Tex Mex for a fix of American grease. Josh left the table and Sophia kept looking for him saying, "Baba, Baba," so I explained to her that he went to pee. Sophia proceeded to the corner where the entire wait staff was standing around and announced at the top of her voice, while pointing towards the bathroom, "Baba pee!" The waitstaff didn't understand her english so they asked me, "What did she say?" It was pretty funny!

But if Sophia didn't tell them how on earth would the waitstaff know that Josh had accomplished such a great feat? She is really just trying to make sure Josh gets all the moral support he deserves for these important tasks.
