Sophia tells it like it is

Today when we arrived home, Sophia was getting ready for bed with Sun Ayi. As soon as she saw us, she started blabbering--telling us about her day, what she ate, how she peed in her pants, and how the tomatoes that Mia's mom brought in were not to her liking.

All very matter-of-factly.

And all in Chinese.

Except when Carolyn told me--in English--that Sophia has peed "in my pants!" she blurted out in English, and then proceeded to tell us how now she can speak English and that she had told our Swedish neighbor as much this afternoon.

We put that in our collective pipes and we smoked it.
